Cumberland Falls State Resort Park (45 minutes)

Known as the "Niagara of the South," Cumberland Falls is one of the few places in the Western Hemisphere where you can see a moonbow — a lunar rainbow — on clear nights during a full moon. The 125-foot waterfall is stunning any time of day, and the park offers hiking trails, a visitor center, and lodging.

Corbin (30 minutes)

The town of Corbin is just 30 minutes south of Somerset on US-27. It's home to the original Colonel Sanders Cafe where KFC was born, as well as Cumberland Falls nearby. Corbin offers dining, shopping, and small-town charm.

London (40 minutes)

About 40 minutes northeast on US-27, London is home to Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park, which preserves a section of the historic Wilderness Road and features a pioneer cemetery, a working mill, and hiking trails. London also hosts the annual World Chicken Festival each September.
